Evangelist John Bunyan Pilgrim's Journey

John Bunyan Pilgrim's Journey

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

In this article, I want to tell you about a well-known author of "The Pilgrim's Progress" or "The Pilgrim's Journey" John Bunyan.

John Bunyan was born on 30.11.1628 was an English writer and Puritan preacher well known as the author of the Christian allegory "The Pilgrim's Progress"

Bunyan came from the village of Elstow near Bedford. He joined the Parliamentary army during the first stage of the civil war.

John Bunyan- Pilgrim's Progress

By the time King Charles IV of England imprisoned John Bunyan, he was a preacher proclaiming the gospel of the living true God with great intensity.  When he went to prison he had only the Holy Scriptures and a book about the witnesses of Christ.

What is John Bunyan known for?

During this time John Bunyan wrote a spiritual autobiography, "Grace abounding to the chief of sinners", who also took advantage of his twelve years in captivity and wrote the world-famous epic "The Pilgrim's Progress" ("The Pilgrim's Journey") at the time.

It is considered to be the second most widely read book in the world after the Holy Bible was published in more than a hundred languages.  The main character in this parable, "Christian", bears a striking resemblance to the character of every single Christian.  The book tells the story of 'Christian''s journey from his hometown of 'Nasanapuram' (analogy to this world) to the 'Eternal City' (the coming kingdom: heaven) on the summit of Zion.

This book not only helped many Christians to move forward in their Christian life journey but also inspired many to stand up for God and come forward as missionaries.  After his release from prison, John Bunyan continued to serve God.  He preached on horseback in and around Bedford.  Through his service, many repented and were saved for their sins.  People in those areas affectionately called him "Bishop Bunyan".

John Bunyan died at the age of 59 after falling ill on a journey to London in Bunhill Fields in 1688. John Bunyan's wife was Sarah Bunyan. John Bunyan born into a poor family, John Bunyan spent most of his life as an atheist with a high percentage of evil.

If God can use such a person, He can surely use each of us to do great things for Him.  Although John Bunyan worked in a tin factory, he became a man who shone like a diamond for God and received praise from all over the world.  He was not only a man who dedicated his life to do God's will, but also a spiritual guide who led many to the kingdom of God.

Dear brother and sister are we dedicated to do our work for god uninterruptedly?
